I would always trust John Deere.

Neither, unless you plan on spending upwards of $6000 for a real zero turn... Buy a Toro, Exmark, Scag, or Simplicity. Both John Deere and Grasshopper outsource the production of their machines to make them affordable to most homeowners and the quality is just not the same as it once was...
