There was a law that went into effect called the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (Check 21) on 28 Oct 2004, maybe you've heard of it? More info on it is at:

http://www.federalreserve.gov/paymentsystems/truncation/default.htm

What does this mean to you? Well, some checks now clear almost as fast a a debit transaction, so there is very little "float" left in the system, even over non-banking days; because guess what? Electronic check clearinghouses that process these 'substitute checks' mentioned in the article operate 24/7!! You may soon find yourself in the unenviable and embarrassing situation of bouncing a check right at the register and then incurring those wonderful $40.00 fees that banks and merchants like to charge each. All it's going to take for you is the right time and place.

Do yourself a favor, now that you are aware of the changes that have occurred in the world of check processing, stop writing hot checks. You'll thank yourself later.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aOm9j

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

I have to assume you get a paycheck and not direct deposit. If so, you will probably be overdrawn.

The banks will process an electronic file from Wal-Mart first thing in the morning. The deposits you make during the day are added to a different file all day long and processed at the END of the day.

So, your withdrawal will be processed first thing, your paycheck will be deposited last thing.

Sorry. I recommend you talk to the bank. They love fees but might be able to make you a short loan for the amount of your check for less than what the overdraft charges will be. Be sure to ask "how much money will it cost each way?". The loan fees could be more than the overdraft fees.

Wal-mart electronically submitted your check to their bank before the receipt printed. If today was a business day, your check would have already bounced. Every transaction on a non-business day is treated as if it happened on the next business day. In this case that would be Monday. Most banks credit ALL deposits for a given business day before deducting any debits. As long as you deposit enough to cover the check sometime Monday, you should be OK.

I thought this was very funny. Had not heard it before. It reminded me of another joke that is an oldie, but a goodie. Here it is: Blonde Jockey A blonde decides to try horseback riding, even though she has had no lessons or prior experience. She mounts the horse, unassisted, and the horse immediately springs into motion. It gallops along at a steady and rhythmic pace, but the blonde begins to slip from the saddle. In terror, she grabs for the horse's mane, but cannot seem to get a firm grip. She tries to throw her arms around the horse's neck, but she slides down the side of the horse anyway. The horse gallops along, seemingly impervious to its slipping rider. Finally, giving up her frail grip, the blonde attempts to leap away from the horse and throw herself to safety. Unfortunately, her foot has become entangled in the stirrup, she is now at the mercy of the horse's pounding hooves as her head is struck against the ground over and over. As her head is battered against the ground, she is mere moments away from unconsciousness when to her great fortune, Stan, the Wal-Mart greeter, sees her and unplugs the horse.

that depends on how Walmart is set up. When they run
the check thru the machine the check might have technically
been approved (called check 21) and you might wake
up tomorrow moring with a bounced check fee, since you have direct deposit, the bank would probably honor the
check and charge you, otherwise your check would have
maybe been denied (they could be set up where they just
charge a small holding fee) and the check clears later
