Children should be given low cost health care. The best way to ensure health care costs do not spiral out of control when they reach adult hood is to give them access earlier in life. BTW the cost for a family of four for health insurance 1100 a month. In many cases the same amount as a home mortgage. Another myth people who cannot afford health care are not out buying up a lot of the luxary items many cons want to say they are they are drowning in medical bills and many other necesssity expenses like rent heating bills and other neccessary expenses.

Wow, I think we are missing some complete thought formation principles in here. If you have a job that does not supplement health care of provide it, get a job that does - wow. I'd like to know how many of these parents have a car payment, cable TV, smoke, drink, gamble, or put a multitude of other non necessities above their children health care. Who says that the government should provide health care so that American families can keep HBO on and keep up with the Joneses.

I think finding reasonable ways to cut health care costs and offering affordable health care to everyone should be the priority. The senator's plan doesn't excite me that much but it's a start. I see people everyday leave the clinic because they can't afford the bill and where do you think they go? The emergency room. It's really a sad mess.

This is about CHILDREN, not about everybody. Our children should be healthy to have a fighting chance in this world. There are many parents that work tirelessly to put food on the table, somehow come up short for healthcare. Many employers don't offer it because of the expense. Look at the loss of good paying jobs being outscourced. That is one of the main reasons for this problem. One cannot afford health insurance working at Wal-Mart.

Its not the governments duty.
By having government do such a thing, you are overstepping their power to take and give. It is the duty of charity.
However, IF a State wants a statewide health service paid for by its own taxpayers, it can vote on it and do such a thing. However the federal government has no right.

I th0 ink the Healthcare Bill needs to be rewritten, taking off the 700,00 adults (parents) who are not 'poor' and giving that money to the poor children. That's what President Bush wants to do. Hillary Clinton is just trying to find a way to get 'big government' to pay for healthcare (which means YOU with your taxes). When are people going to 'get it'! Universal Healthcare sounds great, and everybody wants everybody to have healthcare. The question is 'how'? How do you do this? How do you pay for every child, mother and father? The only way you can.........TAXES!!! Big government means Big TAXES!!!!! Who do you think is going to pay for each baby that Hillary wants to give a $10000. dollars too? YOU!!!! If if comes from the Government, YOU are the one paying!!! Get it! (All to buy votes).

When did it become the right of parents to steal money from others to pay for their kid's health insurance?
When did we become a socialist nation?
Charity? Yes, but when it becomes a debt, something we HAVE to do or we get punished, it is no longer charity.
It is theft.
If I decide I don't want to spend my money on my kids health insurance, YOU now have to pay for it.
Wrong.

Health insurance benefits are available for $61 per month to just about anyone that would seek to buy them. Yet the democrats and liberals would expect the working class citizens who get health care with their employment to give it too those who don't work or won't prioritize it in their expenditures. By God man Starbucks spends more money giving away health care to its baristas' then they do on coffee beans. Anyone that wants to cover their family can do it - they just have to give up the beer and cigerattes.

It is the role of our wealthy, according to the Bible, to care for our poor and be generous and compasionate.
Now is it our role to be mandated by law to sign up for insurance even if we have enough confidence in our bodies to survive without it.
Don't you think it's time to stop thinking that a solution comes from the bloody hand of the government?
