If he seems fine, then don't stress. Babies have taken much worse falls and been totally ok. However, if you start noticing any odd things like his pupils being uneven, or you just want to be absolutely certain he's ok, take him to the ER.

Babies are going to take tumbles- I've got 3 kids, and we've had more bumps, bruises, and falls than I care to remember. Just observe him for the next few hours- to few days- if he's acting normal, I'm sure he's fine. Babies are a lot tougher than we give them credit for- that's not to say they're not going to get hurt... just make sure you don't leave him on the couch unattended (or even when you're right there with him, you've got to keep a hand and an eye on him, 'cause now he's on the move!) The same thing goes for beds, too. Keep him on the floor, or in a crib. Good luck, Mommy, this was the first of many more bumps to come! : )

Have you ever heard that you should try to relax if you are about to crash into another car or fall from a ladder, etc? If you tense up, you are more likely to be more seriously injured. A baby is relaxed and oblivious to the dangers around them. He is probably perfectly fine... the floor was carpeted, which absorbs a lot of the impact.

They usually cry, he must be tough! All babies usually get dropped, or roll off something AT LEAST once in their infancy.
If he looks o.k. and is acting normal he should be fine. You might not want him to go to sleep for a couple of hours, just in case of a concusion, but I seriously doubt it, especially if he didn't even cry. He should be o.k. IF he does start acting abnormal take him to the E.R. For future reference, you can't leave a child alone for even a second!! Not even to reach for that baby wipe box that's 5 feet away! It takes less than a second for an accident to occure!

Just watch him for any indications of swelling or injury, if he seems fine now, more then likely he is and he was probably more startled then actually hurt when he fell. If he starts throwing up though and getting lethargic those are signs you should take him into the ER, other wise he sounds fine.

I know you must feel horrible, but don't! The same thing happened to my son AND my daughter, at around that age. Just keep an eye on him for any strange behavior. If he seems to be alert, doesn't seem to be in any pain, and is eating and doing his normal routine the way he usually does, I wouldn't worry about it. Babies are actually way tougher than we give them credit for.

This happened to my son. He fell from my bed to a hard wood floor and was BALLING! I was DEVASTATED!
He was OK (thank goodness) and I did not take him to the Dr.
Just be careful not to leave him unattended anymore.
Check his pupils with a flash light and make sure they react properly. He is probably OK.
