This is just terrible. This is like something out of a movie script. How the some of the chicago police force beat and tortured those accused of a crime. One of the head officers even wanted to kill one of their officers from confessing. I believe it was out of the special operations unit. Like the movie with Denzel Washington kind of thing. I was in Chicago not to long ago too. We're suppose to trust these people. How can we now after this?

That's a fairly foolish statement.

The actual number of crimes committed by the THOUSANDS of officers is TINY compared to the general public.

You are confusing news with reality. News is about the strange, the unusual. That's why you don't see ex-felons in the news for the thousands of crimes they commit every day.

Just police officers and priests.

How silly. Get a little perspective, please.

The majority of police are professional and DO NOT beat people and torture them. The media makes stories like that into sensational television. It's just like when some kid gets killed and the parents say my kid couldn't carry a gun. Then they find that the kid was a fellon and he killed someone before. No police chief is condoning that behavior from the cops. They are always fired and sent to jail.

I find it great news that a 14 year old was smart enough to pull it off for 5 hours. Wonder if the charge will stick since I heard he had a uniform with no weapon or badge?

By percentage, police corruption is very very low. The police can't screen out every potential bad apple. I think you are safe to trust an average cop working on the street.
