If your coil is really dirty first with a low pressure water spray flush from the inside if the unit out. A reverse of the air flow. Reexamine the coil if still dirty use a water soap mixture to spray on coil them flush. If still coil in coated then go with an acid cleaning.

The outside coils are the condenser coils if you buy a coil cleaner make sure you ask for condenser coil cleaner some cleaners can damage the coils. Just spray it on and wash off low pressure, high pressure bends them.

buy a coil cleaner, at a hardware, spray it on let it soak, dont use any brushes on the fins or you will damage them or spray with a garden hose, with a nozzle on it, the water pressure will bend them, a gentle flow will work fine, and rinse them off,

A good stiff long handled paint brush and then rinse them clean with a garden hose that has a bit of pressure behind it.

Use a mixture of white vinegar and warm water. Just wipe your rag over the compressor after wringing it out and it works and does not hurt it.

go to your local. a/c store .and get the pink or blue chem.
comes i n a gallon bottle. spray on wash off
but you will need to wear gloves, eye wear , ok
beware can burn ,

Use the mild acid cleaner.You can buy it at any HVAC supply store.Spray it on and then hose it off.

try using your leaf blower... works great!!
if you don't have that rent ---an air compressor.
