The kite runner is the only book I have read from that grouping but it is amazing. One of my favorite books. Even though it is somewhat long, I was so into the book that I read it in 2 or 3 days!

definitely read kindred by octavia butler. she's the first black woman science fiction writer, and her writing is so honest, and devastating, that she was awarded a macarthur "genius" grant for it.

kindred is about a young black woman in the seventies married to a white man, who finds herself repeatedly pulled back into pre-civil-war times, where she repeatedly has to save the life of a white boy as he grows up into a brutal slave owner. there's a reason, of course, that she has to do it, and it's pretty hard to take.

kindred is probably the best novel ever written about what slavery is like, and you should definitely get to know butler.

Sorry. I have never heard of any of these books. So, by the random method, I choose: "Daughter of Fortune." I did read "The Mummy" by Anne Rice and give it 5 stars out of 5.

I'd recommend u don't read anything from that list. They're rubbish but you MIGHT try Kite Runner. Otherwise, try Harry Potter by J.K.Rowling. If you haven't read it already.
