The movie has an android that finds love, an unlikable other character who talks to much. There is a scene in like a junk yard (in the desert) and one where the unlikeable character (who doesn't know the android is an android) says something to the android about urinating in the shower. I think I saw it on HBO. The character that talked to much reminds me of Bill Paxton, but I can't find a movie by him that fits the description.

It isn't Star Wars, Dune or Cherry 2000. I've never seen Cherry 2000 but it isn't the same kind of survival movie. This movie is more along the lines of the Mad Max movies without as much violence. The theme was popular at that time.

Someone mentioned Cherry 2000, but I don't believe it took place after WW3...The man goes on a quest for the perfect woman (an android) and ends up falling for Melanie Griffith's character.
