Only if you slap some rare roast beef in there as well.

Though I had a couple of sausage butties before coming to work, so if you don't mind I'll keep it for later.

EDIT: For those that don't understand .. A butty, in the early 20th century, was an unpowered cargo boat towed behind a larger canal barge.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butty (which also contains a short description of the answer you actually want - which is given below)

Oh OK, It's also British slang for a sandwich - usually used as Bacon, Sausage, Chip or Jam Butty though other fillings are also sometimes referred to as butties instead as sandwiches

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon_butty and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip_butty

EDIT 2: Polar Molar - You haven't lived until you've got your chops round a chip butty, with brown sauce, and had the melted butter & sauce dribbling down your chin.

Of course, if you want to go up market, you can always add cheese to the chip butty.

I was wondering? What type of lettuce? There's Romain , Iceburg, or Butterhead? So, if you're having butty tomatoes, is it butty lettuce that compliments your salads?

Have you tried bootie lettuce? It's always good tossed and garnished with a few nutts. Serve with an Italian dressing! Or undressing! :)

Thanks Elflaeda. In Oz, we usually only talk about a chip butty which is a disgustingly delicious calorie/cholesterol bomb made from fresh white bread, lashes of butter and loads of hot chips. You can keep the rabbit food. That's made me hungry, I'm going to have to race off and find a chip butty now.

Delish with a little mayo on it. Yum, make two, will you. For American readers, a butty is a sandwich.
