1996 Sport Explorer air brakes????

I have a 96 sport explorer. The right front tire locked up after the avs light came on. I also heard a grinding sound.The rest of the wheel's work fine. What could be the problem?

Sounds like your right front hub assembly suffered catastrophic material failure, in turn chewing up the ABS wheel speed sensor. Good luck with it, and have all of your hubs checked to be safe. They usually make a roaring noise for a long time before they reach this point of failure.

Brake caliper fell off.
