yes it is but don't blame outsourcing just on corporate management. our lack of productivity and "work ethic" has in some cases forced production to other parts of the world. just look at the problems with auto makers and the difference in labor cost verses Toyota, Nissan , Honda. GM, Ford and Chrysler for years paid higher and higher wages more and more in benefits and saw the quality of their products fall and fall. now their quality is much better but their cost are unreal we did that to ourselves. it is time we all say yes we want "Made in America" and we are willing to pay the price and we are willing to do the jobs and do them right.

I absolutely concur with you that outsourcing, regardless of the industry, is ultimately quite detrimental to our long-term interests. Yes, we may get cheaper products in the short term, but we are engendering an environment that is robbing Americans of job opportunities, and furthermore we are creating a job market that makes attainment of higher levels of education irrelevant, because we are not only farming out our manufacturing work, but our highly skilled white color jobs as well, such as IT support, computer programming/software development, accounting services, etc.
Just a cursory understanding of history will reveal that too much reliance on outside labor forces to do your work, will spell the death of your own society. It happened in Sparta, in the Persian, Roman, and British empires.
It is time we heed the lessons of history and make America more self-sufficient, despite the short term inconveniences or the rise in product prices that such a move would entail.

Yes, I do, which is the biggest reason I don't want a Clinton back in the White House.
Bill did more to damage this country with his granting of Most Favored Nation Status to China and NAFTA than any other president in history.
Not to mention Hillary's involvement in Wal-mart and both their investments in the same.

It's likely the political economics, not financial economics, have run the economy. Cant transfer major capital and labor in the supply side without export the demand side while SSA needs import of immigrants to keep up with retirement benefits. Trade deficits are just bigger and bigger along with other affects.

Absolutely. With the loss of manufacturing our own goods in the U.S., we are left very vulnerable to shortages of everything from soup to nuts, on top of the lost jobs. We've lost the pride we had in "Made in the U.S.A.". Companies used to train their employees for jobs that required it. Now they just use an H1B and pay them less. This leads to the waste of the human element and less progression for the ordinary citizen.

We need to stop outscourcing jobs. There may be a financial gain for the corporations who do, but look at what it has done to our working class. Also, look at Mattel. Cheap labor and cheap prices aren't always better!

No. You cannot stop outsourcing. You can refuse to deal with companies who outsource.

You can force them (socialism).
You can make it worth their while (capitalism).
If you force them, others will leave, in droves, and the standard of living for our country will spiral down as we turn against "the rich", those who create jobs, who run business, and they leave for other countries. When "big business" becomes a bad word, everyone loses.
If you make it worth their while, remove the socialism, use government to guide, not oppress or control, they will come in droves at the opportunity.
Choose.
Socialism is a short-term fix with a degenerating spiral of economic control vs. productivity.
Capitalism is based on competition to keep prices down (something we have taken OUT of our medical system with HMOs and other such systems, causing prices to go UP).
Don't stop them from outsourcing.
Stop forcing them out.
