5/8 + 3/4

This problem is simple. First, you "make" the denominators the same. The denominator in 5/8 is 8, and the denominator in 3/4 is 4.
Multiply the denominator of 4 by 2, and the numerator of 3 by 2 (to distribute it evenly):

5/8 + 3/4
5/8 + 6/8

Now it's very simple. 5/8 + 6/8 equals 11/8. If your teacher tells you leave it as an improper fraction, that's the answer. If not, change it to a mixed number.

to do it you must find the "lowest common denominator"

5/8 + (-3/4) LCD is 8

5/8 + (-3/4)(2/3)
5/8 + -6/8 = - 1/8

practice it. It may be hard at 1st but with practice you can master this skill.

u have to flip -3/4 to make it positive and then find common denomintars n then add the numerators
ex/ 5/8 + (-3/4)
=5/8 + 4/3
=15/24+32/24
=47/24

5/8 + 3/4 .. you have to make the denominator equal... so multiply num and den of 3/4 by 2 you get 6/8. now add 11/8

you need to find a common denominater...

-3/4 multiply both by 2 so you will get -6/8 and then you do the math..

5/8 + (-6/8) you will get - 1/8
