I have had a puppy less than 30 days. It had a parasite when I bought him (I didn't know of course). I took him to the vet that was recommended to me by the people that sold me the dog. Due to complications from the parasite my dog has already required 2 surgeries. I have not even had the dog 1 month. Who should pay the for the surgeries???

you know what really makes me mad is people who gets a puppy and then there is something wrong with it and expect someone else to pay for it.

Look you either bought the puppy or got it for free, whatever happens from that point on is your responsibility. Sorry that your puppy has this parasite and had to have surgery but trying to say it is someone else should pay for the surgery is absurd!!!

If you have a child and the child need surgery are you going to say the same thing?

BOTTOM LINE............ You should pay. the puppy is yours now not anyone else... so dig in your pocket and get the money out and pay it.

I think that the people you bought the puppy from should pay. It has been less than 30 days but if they won't listen or don't believe your story then you will have to pay.

Definitely the seller. You chould also find out who else bought puppies there because they may be faced with the same complications. You may be able to file some sort of lawsuit together.

I would get a lawyer to make the pet store pay. It all depends on whether or not they knew about the parasite though.

That's a tough one. If you didn't know, maybe they were not aware either. If you cannot prove that they knew, then you're probably going to end up paying the bills. Sorry. Morally, I think they should have to help, but legally they probably don't have to.

unless the person who sold you the dog gave you some sort of guaranty as to health I'm sorry but it's your dog and you took it to the vet. you pay.
