wow it amazes me how people buy into the whole occult thing yes jimmy page had an intrest but he wasnt a member anyway its about a lady who thinks everything she has a problem with can be resolved with money and then she dies and tries to buy the stairway to heaven and realizes that she cant

Stairway to Heaven is full of symbolism. If you ever study British Witchcraft, you will understand the song. I seriously doubt it is about drug addition and death as others have stated. It's all about different British Witchcraft and how they do things.

I'm not sure about the occult part, but I have heard it is about a woman who is addicted to drugs, therefore dying, therefore "building a stairway to heaven."

It was some cynical aside about a woman getting everything she wanted all the time without giving back any thought or consideration.
