take the battery out of the Car and have it Recharged to FULL
Capacity. Your Cars Charging system will not I repeat will not completely recharge a dead battery the most it will recharge one is 85% and leaving a Battery in a partial state of discharge is bad for the battery as well as bad for the Alt as it will continually be trying to keep the battery charged.

When you have to jumpstart a dead battery you Dump what is known as a surface charge in the battery enough to start the car and get in in for repair the Alt will charge it as stated but it is also just a Surface charge. The battery needs a good deep cycle charge at 2 to 10 amp for about 10 hrs then it can be checked for the general health of the Battery.

FYI If the Battery is more than three years old then the odds are in the favor that you just might need a new one. What ever you do do NOT Disconnect the battery cable to check your Alt.
This trick may have worked in cars that do not have acomputer in them but as cars have become Technical and the Electrical system is controlled by the ECM on all cars made since 1996 . bY Disconnecting the battery cable you run the risk of sending Full Alt output directly into the ECM (most Alt put out 95 to 135 amps) and the ECM CAnnot handle the Amperage and the Car will die and you will have a even bigger headache and much more expensive than a dead Battery or bad Alt.

batteries typically last about 3-5 years. Depending on climate and you charging system. I would recommend hooking your battery to a charger. Your battery is mainly used only to start your car. To check your charging system in your car, start it up and look at your voltage gage, if you have one, then turn on your headlights and see if your gage goes down. Then rev up your engine and see if the lights get noticeably brighter. If you don't have equipment to check things properly this is a way to check your stuff. On some cars you can start your car and disconnect your battery. If it stays running your alternator is good. If it dies your alternator is bad and is not charging your battery. Most big auto parts stores will test batteries and alternators for free. good luck

Take your battery(car) to AutoZone, Sears, or where they sell car batteries. They can run a test on the battery to see if it will hold a charge. Best part, it is FREE!!! ;) Best of luck to you mate.

If it starts tomorrow morning, don't worry about it until it doesn't start again.

You could get three more years out of it, or it could die tomorrow...It's tough to say.
There are a lot of variables.

Keep $60 put away for a battery just in case.

it all depends on what ran it down or did it go down by its self,it could just be getting old and in need of replacing,if that's the case then you will have more problems from it later on,then it may be alright too,its really hard to say ,check the date on it and see how old it is,this will help determine how much longer it might last you, good luck with it.
