It is an ersatz stereotype that has no basis in fact. Statistically speaking men, particularly young men, are involved in more car accidents than women. For this reason, as mentioned, insurance rates for women are lower than they are for men.

Not sure, but I've experienced worse drivers as males than do I women. I was hit by a tourist, a bigoted white male in a racist atmosphere but the only thing he did was play into the racist cop's discrimination in which we have been experiencing since moving to this racist town.

The white guilty male driver could see that this town did not like Black people and played right into the whole racism exhibited by the cop and the courts. I'm still fighting for justice. Plus any/all accidents I've been in have not been my fault but the fault of white males.

It could have something to do with where I've lived. Now I'm trying to get out. It is hard because satan is working hard against me; preventing me from moving. White males to me are the most deceitful and the main ones to blame for being worse drivers; plus they like to lie and don't take responsibility for their crimes as usual with them.

They arent if you ask insurance companies men have much more accidents. Women are more cautious usually but thats now the older woman, the younger women are racing along the men. So its no longer true at all.

Because stupid men are usually the ones who consider women to be bad drivers.

I mean, If our driving is so bad..... then why is our insurance premiums lower than theirs?

Almost every time I seem to be involved in a wreck, it is usually a woman - and almost always she is talking on her cell phone.

I'm a woman too, but some of these ladies need to learn how to drive - not chat on the phonne while driving!!! If you really need to use the phone, PULL OVER... and not in the middle of the three lane highway. (A lady last week literally stopped all traffic in the middle of the highway, just to answer her cell phone!!!! WTF?)

I think it is because women brains are different than males. they think with alot of emotion and are more multitaskable. While guys think with their brain and are not as multitaskable, so they can focus on driving. (dont be angry ladies, it's the truth)

It's an old stereotype that came about in the days before power steering. You had to have some serious upper body strength to drive in the old days, not now though. It's pretty moot now thanks to technology.
