Tomas de Torquemada, "Hammer of the Heretics" during the Spanish inquisition, because you cant "talk'em outta" anything. But seriously, this dude was bad news and stands alongside HItler, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as history's worst villian.

In my opinion, it was Allorick the Goth. He destroyed the Roman Empire, plunging the then-developed world into centuries of Dark Ages.

He not only killed an amazingly large percentage of the population during his lifetime, he indirectly caused millions more to die premature deaths due to bad medical care.

Seriously, he all but permanently destroyed the arts and sciences humanity worked so hard to create. His own people even assassinated him, because of his autocratic tendencies. He was a really bad guy.

Probably one of the Pharaohs. Hitler and other more modern figures were terrible, but I don't think they could hold a candle to the mass slavery from back in the day. Just imagine what the percentage of the entire Earth's population was a slave to Pharaoh. I mean there weren't that many people back then.

Edit: So when someone answers "George W. Bush" it automatically indicates that they know nothing of history and probably know just as little about politics. George W. Bush may be incompetent but that doesn't mean he's evil, unless you honestly believe that people who ride the short bus to school are evil.

Nero; he started the practice of nailing the Christians and Jews to crosses, setting these people on fire while these people were still alive, and using these people as street lights from travelers throughout the Roman Empire. How disgusting can one person get? Just image the odor of burning flesh.

The answer to a question like this is indicative of the character of the answerer I suppose. Since I consider betrayal to be among the worst things anyone could do to anyone, it would be Judas Iscariot.

Hitler, who murdered Jews and very nearly murdered the future of his country, is a close second.
