No more, I have the right answer.
It's
18=c+5/2
18(2)=c+5(2)
----------
2
Cross out the 2's on the right side.
36=c+5
-5 -5
Cross out the + and - 5 on the right.
31=c

The words were for my friend.

18 = (c + 5) / 2
36 = c + 5
c = 31

Answer: c = 31

Proof:
18 = (31 + 5) / 2
18 = 36 / 2
18 = 18

Or it could mean another thing as I noticed an ambiguity in the presentation of this problem.
18 = c + 5/2
18 = c + 2 1/2
c = 15 1/2

Answer: c = 15 1/2

Proof:
18 = 15 1/2 + 2 1/2
18 = 18

18 = c +5 and not (18/2) = c + 5?
then
c + 5 = 18
c + 5 - 5 = 18 -5
c = 13

18 = c + 5
18 - 5 = c (bring over 5 to the opposite, and when +5 is brought over it automatically changed to -5)
therefore 18 - 5 = c
13 = c
c = 13

i dont have a caulater but i now how to do it you minuse
5/2-5/2 thats 0
then mines 5/2 from 18 and that will = C

ok first you subtract each side by 5/2.

then you get 18- 5/2. you need to convert 18/1 into 36/2 that way you can subtract. after you subtract you get 31/2 =c. which simplified is 15.2=c

hope that helps
