Well both collapses are rare. The Yankees collapse in the 2004 ALCS never happened before. So that was impressive for Boston. As for the Mets to the Phillies no major league team had owned a lead of seven games or more with 17 to play and failed to finish in first place. The giants and pirates did it in 1934 and 1938 respectively. So it depends on whether your a Yankee or Met Fan. Me im a yankees fan so i'll go with the mets collapse.

Mets. I was drunk, but I admitted the Red Sox still hot a shot in 2004. Mets losing today completed a collapse worse than the 1964 Phillies. That's not supposed to happen. Eventually, a team had to come back from 0-3 down, and Boston did so.

Yankees to Red Sox in 2004 ALCS as Yankees failed to hold Red Sox's comeback to 4-3 from 0-3. Red Sox is only the professional team can win the playoff series from having trailed 0-3.

It's the Mets ... Here's why. The 2004 BoSox were a superb team and they were strongly favored by the sports experts to win the ALCS even before the 1st pitch of that ALCS was thrown

The 2007 Phillies, on the other hand, did not have the same backing from the sports experts. The Phillies winning the NL East on the final day of the season is pretty darn miraculous so there's your answer

Without question, the Red Sox humiliation of the Yankees in '04. It's a record that will stand for many years. Possibly a hundred! The Yankees deserved it also. The arrogance and attitude of the team and the fans. Remember the Red Sox also smoked the Cardinals in what everyone thought would be a St. Louis rout. In 3 lifetimes you'll never see it happen again the way it went down.

The Mets for virtue that it took more games and a longer stretch of time for it to happen. The Red Sox comeback was amazing but only took winning 3 straight games.

The Mets hands down. How can a team possibly do that in one month??

It's not a GR8 comparison tho, but a good question none the less.
