There are so many things to be rageful about, so many ominous things to be scared of, yet it seems that many people's reaction is to either ignore these things, or sigh and say "well, the end is near" flop down on their couch and watch Flavor of Love or something.

I'm talking about the web of lies regarding 9-11 and the 2002/ 2004 elections, the stupid, expensive and injust war, increased police presence and brutality, congress attempting to crimialize protest under patriot-act-like legislature, increased surveillence, the continued rape of the environment, signs of a new economic depression, corporately owned and edited journalism, killer bees...

I'm especially addressing the youth community, as it seems that any sort of counter culture that forms is immediately swallowed up into the consumer/media spectacle- a very effective tactic on the part of the six white men who control all of media and market. Let's mobilize and take serious action.

These answerers should know what you said is exactly right and that by being devoted to the current agenda, we are asking for big trouble.
See clips of Aaron Russo re 'Freedom to Fascism' as he takes us further into the future plans of the money-changers.
Those who love this country, do you really want it to change into a police state and under threat by other nations with good cause? Too bad this media won't show the troops or the people who live there talking openly w/o fear of death about the conditions and who is reaping the goods. Shame, it's a shame and at least for those who understand the consequences, at least continuously keep in contact with any elected officials with your concern.
Even Chalmers Johnson, a super educated ex-FBI man says once we lose our freedom we will probably not get it back.

It doesn't make any difference which problem you pick. It all boils down to the simple fact that the Dems and Reps have all the power. They "must" therefore have to bear all the responsibility their abysmally poor judgment, lies, cheating, stealing, back stabbing, cork screwing, and dirty dealing..

The Dems and Reps are dinosaurs, and it's now time to remedy this problem. Time for them to become extinct. "We" must never vote for anyone that's a Dem or Rep ever again. If we fail to do this simple task. Then it's "our" abysmally poor judgment and "we" must pay for that.

I find it hard to believe that the guy, or girl, who is of the working class could do any worse than the polticians. The politicians have ruined the environment, the economy, world relations, made unneeded wars, and watched our people suffer from ever speading cancer zones All the time they make sound bites about they've done this or that, which has accomplished nothing but the ruination of our planet.

Lyrics to John Mayer's "Waiting on the World to Change" might explain some peoples' apathy.

me and all my friends
we're all misunderstood
they say we stand for nothing and
there's no way we ever could
now we see everything that's going wrong
with the world and those who lead it
we just feel like we don't have the means
to rise above and beat it
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
it's hard to beat the system
when we're standing at a distance
so we keep waiting
waiting on the world to change
now if we had the power
to bring our neighbors home from war
they would have never missed a Christmas
no more ribbons on their door
and when you trust your television
what you get is what you got
cause when they own the information, oh
they can bend it all they want
that's why we're waiting
waiting on the world to change
it's not that we don't care,
we just know that the fight ain't fair
so we keep on waiting
waiting on the world to change

I have not noticed any increase or decrease in the level of apathy over the past half century of existence.

Nor have I noticed it in studying human history.

Yes, people got a little more apathetic when Hitler rose to power, and didn't do anything about it, but generally, individuals struggling in their daily lives are more important than politicos and their fear mongering and conspiracy theories and apocalyptic thought. People like fads, but they usually don't last. I'll assume you didn't live through the impending nuclear war with the Soviets, or the resulting Nuclear Winter or the Ice Age of the 1970's... or the mass starvation predicted by Carter and the Club of Rome. We got through that just fine.

In other words, history happens despite politics, not because of it.

Have fun. Give me an extra helping if you're the one serving food at the re-education camp...

As you get older you see a new "end of the world problem"
We have seen the "Atomic bomb" threats, "acid rain", gas prices way above todays, Unjust wars, Just wars, yeah the Killer Bees, remember that?
The message is always panic, now!

Sadly?, I'm not worried about tomorrow (except for the chance of rain) I invest in China, to protect my money from the future, still eat too much, and planning on a heart attack one day

Vote foe me and my socialist plans will solve all of your problems. I will TAKE those profits and use them for the common good. Health care and housing will be free for all. Everyone will be issued food stamps so no one will go hungry. I will silence those racist right-wingers on talk radio, and all others who disagree with me. I will empty our prisons, disband the police and military, and jail all capitalists. I will stop all aid to Israel and partner with Iran, North Korea, and Cuba to solve the problems of the poor.

You and I sound like we have a lot in common. Join me and let's turn this country around!

Chicken Little, "The sky is falling!" Why aren't more people concerned and what can we do to change it? First thing is, DO we need to change it? If most people don't think so, then maybe it's not as serious as you think it is. Maybe the problem is not with the world, but with you.

I can be all upset about the weather, too, but it's not going to change anything. I have no control over most of the world. Just my part in it. And my reaction to other people's part in it. No, not their part, just my reaction to them. Are they all going to change just because I'm upset about them?

How dare you explain your personal views about the Illuminati. We are doing a damned good job of destroying your future, culture, and religions. It has been over 12000 years since technology and our power has been this high. Pretty soon it will be a good time to have that much awaited rematch. 666
