It certainly is a major issue since the cost of health care just recently soared out of control...I think it was last week.
This has been a pressing and crucial issue for a long time. It's also been one of those throw away political promises to "reform" health care or provide "affordable" care. They'll talk about it, make promises, then forget about it.
It's absolutely absurd that the very people who have socialized health care deny it to the rest of the population. EVERY FEDERAL employee participates in such a program. EVERY military person participates in such a program. The average citizen has to pay a substantial portion of their own insurance. I'd love to her any politican address that.

Affordable health care is not possible as long as the Federal Government keeps trying to regulate it. The system worked very well for hundreds of years. Costs skyrocketed once the Federal Government decided to "fix it". Further fixing will only make matters worse.

HOW IS AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE SOCIALISM? VERY FEW AMERICANS CAN AFFORD TO PAY FOR MEDICAL INSURANCE IF IT IS NOT SUBSIDIZED BY THEIR EMPLOYERS. THAT IS WHY 47 MILLION AMERICANS ARE UNINSURED. NO PLACE IN THIS QUESTION WAS FREE MENTIONED. EVEN THE REPUBLICANS HAVE PLANS TO MAKE HEALTH CARE AFFORDABLE. WHY DO SO MANY HAVE TO MAKE EVERY ISSUE DIVISIVE? AND WE WONDER WHY THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT GET ANYTHING ACCOMPLISHED

Yes. The health care situation is out of control and needs to be fixed one way or the other. Hopefully, they will first attempt to see why it is so expensive, take measures to fix that, and go from there. Capitalism has run amok since Clinton left office. Pure unleashed capitalism leaves the consumer open to reverting back to the "let the buyer beware" days.

No. It is not a priority. It is only a Democratic socialist idea that will not work in a free market Country like the good old capitalist USA. The government would just fudge it up if it were in charge of it.

If socialized medicine is out, some serious reform in the industry is crucial. It's fine and dandy if we have great doctors and hospitals etc, but what's the point if no one can afford them when needed.
