no, you are right. You would think that it makes more people respect the top contributors answers, but i've seen some top contributors with some stupid answers on here - so to me, it does nothing for you except allow you to ask and answer more.

I have no idea. But if I were confined to bed with some sickness, or a wheelchair with little mobility. I would find answer a far better place to spend than in front of a TV all day. I have seen many people with perfectly good minds stuck in front of that tube. I am sure there are many other reasons I don't know of and I say, more power to him.

He could be like me Billy No Mates who has been ill for a long time. Just cos he has loads of points means nothing. I moved up a level last week and can answer even more but it isn't getting me anything - well except permanent eye strain it doesn't actually get me owt! lol:-D

You fail to see the sense of Yahoo awarding points or you fail to see why he bothers?
It's kind of nice getting points I suppose and I guess he just spends a lot of time answering people.
Perhaps psychologically Yahoo knows people will spend more time on here if they get awarded points.
It might be a government initiative to lower the crime figures - keep all us dodgy people indoors when we could be out and up to all sorts :)

He can trade them in on a bot that will answer all his questions automatically. Oh wait, you only need 100,000 points for that. Well, that explains how he got so many points!

Wow what is up with peoples avatars tonight? They keep changing when you click on their question. Well anyway maybe they have been on YA along time. Does seem to be senseless because once you get to a certain point you are unlimited.

I don't think that people share their thoughts, answers and ideas for pure point value

It does about as much good as asking a question about him does.
