You have whatever make the both of you happy. I don't think being a senior should make any different. My second wedding I had a formal outside wedding and I wore off white. No one cared and too bad if the did! Congratulations!

Have a church wedding by all means. No matter how advanced or primitive the civilization, the wedding ceremony has religious significance. Since I too am a Lieutenant Commander you can pass on a message of congratulations from me and advise him to buy a "burn bag" for that little black book and the other stuff he doesn't want you to see. LOL!

I say to marry wherever you choose.... there is no protocol for weddings anymore. You could have a traditional church wedding or you could choose to marry on a cruise or somewhere that is special for the two of you.... Congratulations and Good Luck to you and your new Hubby

I haven't lived in Spain but visited twice...lovely country...

As to church wedding...anything you two decide on is 'protocol' as it is your WISHES that matter - no one elses.

BTW- does the Lt.Commander have a single brother? ;-)

Go. Can you speak Spanish? You can have whatever wedding you want. Whatever blows your hair away.
