I gave into the power of suggestion more quickly than when I was not in the state of hypnosis. I knew what I was doing, but had given up part of my normal thought pattern. It was as if I trusted the person who was giving direction, more than my own self. It may be akin to what can happen with the power of belief, in religion or such, the mind is a powerful thing! When you believe in something so much, without reserve amazing things can happen and you will do things that you couldn't do with out the power of belief or suggestion. In my case while I was hypnotized I performed acts that I would not have done otherwise. I would not recomend being hypnotized by your mate.

I've had somebody attempt to hypnotize me. What happened is the lights went out and somebody made a fool of themselves -- and it wasn't me. Hypnotism is B.S.

UPDATE: The people it works on only pretend they're hypnotized because they don't want to be the odd one out, or be placed in an awkward situation where they have to say "it's not working" and be subjected to criticism for "doing it wrong" on behalf of the hypnotherapist.
Avoidance of being the "odd one out" is particularly true for people in large groups who are being hypnotized.
It also allows for a person to act out in a crazy way without fear of consequences or judgement, so it may be theraputic in that sense.

Yes, there was this guy; from the first time i met him i was "hypnotized". I always tried to gain his attention, i did almost everything he asked. Sadly I'm still "hypnotized" and theres nothing much i can do.

No, but there was some people who were at a graduation party I went to. It was so funny. They had them be horses, and he had someone steel someone else's money. Then he had them pretent like they were 1st graders, and they had to be on their worst behavior. (Which was really grass). It was HILARIOUS.

Then my friends mom wouldn't wake up at first, it took like 10 minutes.
