No. The Founders put the separation of powers there for a reason. We need the checks and balances to help preserve freedom and democracy.

There are a few flaws in your argument. First, they have to have a 2/3 majority to override a veto, and that's much harder to do than just get a simple majority. Also, the executive branch does enact some rules of its own. For example, Bush went into Iraq without a bill from Congress, simply because he was the Commander in Chief. Also, the president can set policies for the different administrative agencies, even if some of the actions do have to be approved by Congress. Congress's biggest power is that they control the purse strings. If they don't finance the president's programs, and he doesn't have discretionary funds he can use for those programs, he has a problem.

Our government was designed so that no one person had absolute power. It's worked pretty well so far. Even if I liked the guy the last thing we need is a sole person making laws in this country..

Only if his law was to make sure that people on this website were literate my friend. WTF is "shuld b" ? You use it twice! I also think you meant with; not wit! Please do not try to influence our government until you are smart enough to read our language! Now get back to your school books before you sound like a complete fool, sorry, more of a complete fool!

The President has too much power. I don't agree that he/she should have more.
