The best site is the Death Penalty Information Center at www.deathpenaltyinfo.org. This is a user friendly website with information about many issues surrounding the death penalty (lethal injection, deterrence, innocence, costs, victims families, juveniles, mental retardation, mental illness and much more.)
If you are a student they have a terrific page for students at

The other good website is www.deathpenaltyfocus.org, which gives a very good explanation of why the death penalty costs so much (click on facts and then on cost).
