Obviously this issue has caused you great anxiety and in a way if you didn't find out the question as to why you were removed from your mum under a High Court ruling ie Wardship you will probable will go through your life wanting to know WHY?? In order for you to be removed in the 1st place there had to be a justifiable reason and obviously being placed with your aunt kept your links with your family and thankfully you were not placed in foster care with strangers.
It is a good idea to request this information from SS but you wont be entitled to see 3rd party information and then of course you might see something in your file which may be something you were not expecting and may cause you further upset. The decision of course is yours and i hope if you do go through with your request that there is loving family/friends around you that you can turn to for support. Good to luck to you and i wish you well.

First of all may i say good luck with your quest, because i am 37 years old now and at the age of 8 i was taken out of primary school and placed in a hospital type place untill i was 11 and then i was moved to another place were i was held untill i was 16,i still suffer from a personality disorder.. anyway when i was 16 they let me go,,,never provided any after care and just left me to my own device's,hence i went thourgh a lot of bad times while in them places and indeed after i got out and the only reason i have ever had was that i was hyper active ( adhd ) and in the 70s they could not deal with it the way they do now... so good luck

It really depends on how old you are. I'm sure if the family who loves you doesn't feel as this is information you should know right now, there is a reason. You have to trust that your family would not steer you in the wrong direction. I bet there will come a day and a time when someone in your family will share with you what happened. I would let it lie for now accept things for what they are today and take tomorrow when it comes and perhaps you are more able to deal with it.

you have to ask yourself are you prepared for what ever it says? If you love your mom and your mother loves you and your aunt took care of you, why dig up a past thats only going to upset you in the present being. If you really feel like you need to know, then I would say go for it. But would you hold the information agianst anyone if it turned out to be bad?

Of course you need to know why. I am surprised nobody has let you know. Whatever the reason, you will need to know so you can be sure about who you are. This vagueness must be driving you nuts!
