in the event that they have been pecking on the wood siding on my living homestead, i might enable them to on my own. The woodpeckers are easily doing you a decide for by using ability of drawing your pastime to the straightforward fact which you likely have some bugs on your siding. in the event that they weren't there pecking, you likely does not have pronounced. Now you understand and you may replace the wood that needs changing. i might build a hen feeder and fill it with seeds and nuts that woodpeckers like. ---

If they were pecking at the wood siding on my home, I would let them alone.
The woodpeckers are actually doing you a favor by drawing your attention to the fact that you probably have some insects in your siding. If they weren't there pecking, you probably would not have noticed. Now you know and you can replace the wood that needs replacing.
I would build a bird feeder and fill it with seeds and nuts that woodpeckers like.

Get some reflective material: stainless steel, aluminum, real cheap mirrors, and put them on the siding. The woodpeckers see another woodpecker, and peck at the mirror. Eventually, they give up, and relinquish the "territory" to the other "woodpecker".
If that does not work, you have a choice: Contact a professional, or shoot the woodpecker.....
( Comment: I love woodpeckers, but they can be tremendously destructive--I recently went to a home with 40 holes in their soffits, letting in all kinds of pests)Good luck

Call an Exterminator. Those birds aren't pecking just to annoy you, they are after bugs in the siding. Thats what they do.

They are looking for insects. Make sure that you don't have an insect infestation.
However sometimes woodpeckers have brain damage (must be from all that head banging) and get confused and peck at unusual things.
How about getting a cat? That should take care of it.

I also believe they are after food. I would see if you need to spray your house for bugs.
