basically if youre mugged and you tazer them what kind of charges are you facing?

I doubt that would be convictable. It would likely fall under self defense.

It's sad that we live in a world where we face charges for defending ourselves.

It's like we're supposed to by law die/get robbed and luckily survive when we walk out the front door. Remember the case of the guy who cut his hands on a window breaking into a house and sued the family for "purposely making it sharp"?

The actual tasering of him would not bring charges, that would fall well within the rules of self-defense. Even if he was mugging someone else.

The possession of the taser, if illegal in your jurisdiction, could be enforced, but it is unlikely they would bring charges in this situation.

As long as use of tazer was proportional to the physical act that was perpetrated against you, self-defense should be a complete defense against accusation of battery against you.
