If I read it right, she wanted more money and was refused.
She got into trouble for always being late on the set too.

Probably to pursue playing different roles. She has been locked in to playing characters in law enforcement for many seasons, beginning with her portrayal of a female Secret Service agent on "The West Wing", then her current role on "C.S.I.".
