or does the media believe Ohio State should be in the top 10 ALL THE TIME?

Well, OSU is not always the greatest team in the land, but they are consistent. Seeing how they are one of the ONLY five top ten teams to not lose this weekend, I'd say that they deserve their spot. They were ranked outside the top ten in the preseason and have steadily moved their way up....unlike Stink of M who had a #5 ranking handed to them and then they messed it up.
If they deserve to be in the top ten, then they should be there.

Well, Ohio State is unbeaten at the moment and there are fewer and fewer unbeaten teams. Yes, the media is filled with Ohio State alums, so they are biased toward them, but they deserve a top 10 ranking at the moment. If they get upset or if they lose the game against Wisconsin, they may not end up in the top 10 at the end of the year.

Its not like the Buckeyes haven't proved why they belong in the top 10 all the time. And I don't see them getting beat by Appalachian State either. Yes, the Big Ten is having a "down year" but I remember when the Pac-10 and Big East were the softest conferences in college football 3 or 4 years ago (I go to Syracuse by the way, lord help me). Ohio State is the one school in the nation that no one but Ohio natives and die-hard fans will root for and the masses keep questioning them. I dont know why but people need to get with the program: "Ohio State doesn't rebuild, they reload".

They all want Ohio St, Michigan, Notre Dame, USC, Texas and Nebraska in the top 10 every year, because with the older sports writers, thats the way it used to be. I'll bet Michigan ends up in the top 25 this season if they don't lose but one more game, just because people expect them to be there and people want to see them there. It sucks for other big confernece teams that have to struggle into the top 25 and midmajors who have to beat damn near everybody to even be considered to be in the rankings.
