I'd say a majority of people will smoke when they drink. Even if they never smoke. Also, when I was deployed to Iraq, so many people who never smoked before picked it up for the first time. I think anytime you're going through a stressful time or environment, people will smoke.

Can I still answer even though I stopped smoking on July 7th and am now 85 days smoke free? Boredom was the thing what used to make me reach for the c!ggies more than anything. Another activity was when I was trying to do something on this confounded machine and I couldn't work it out - I could smoke 20 one after the other then without batting an eyelid. I tend to sit now with a pencil in my hands or gripped between my teeth, lol:-D

I don't smoke anymore but drinking awlays went hand in hand with smoking for me (alcohol I mean).
It was really difficult getting used to not smoking when I was drinking, it took me months to snap out of the habit as i had numerous laspes everytime I had a glass of red wine.

my other half smokes - and does so more when he gets stressy - which is 98 percent of the time - ... or if he is out with friends having a beer
