i have an acer desktop w/c has a DOS system and I want it to install an XP with it, but during the process, there is no hardisk that has been detected. But i checked it at the BIOS it is present? Is there any step that I need to take or at the BIOS setting to change? Or any third party that needed for my drive? Thanks for the help...

Go back into the BIOS and check in one of the advanced windows. You must set the BIOS so that the SATA drive is the primary or boot drive.

first of all install on a IDE disk because its a hell of a lot easier. 2nd is the fact that it is the motherboard that is detecting the SATA drive not windows so when its in the BIOS its just telling you that its plugged in
