Dragon and I are Red Cross volunteers for many years. Dragon helped retrieve the bodies found floating in the water after Katrina in LA, she also rescued a dog and a horse.

Bet you wouldn't have thought that our dear Dragon did this!

Kudos g/f!

PS. I am Client Services Supervisor and help the families in their recovery

I don't handle the death part, however we did have 2 deaths at the service center I was at. I am not a hero, Dragon is!

As a Red Cross volunteer on national disasters, I usually don't know a person's name, just that they are reaching out for help & I sure have my hands out for them to grab onto.
The term "Friend" is never an issue for they all are!
I don't care what a person's nationally is nor their color, religion, sexual orientation, personality, etc., etc., they need help and I , along with MANY others, get it for them. This washes over into my everyday life also-which is a good thing.
So yes! I have friends in need & I am there for them.

Yes. Dragon has reached beyond her own incredibly painful life (she has told us this way back when in open posts, so I am not giving away any secrets) to help those who are in more need than herself.

She is one who owns the REAL spirit of giving that religion and whatever Bible you use tries to teach us.

A totally selfless person doing a job that even trained professionals try to avoid. Yes, Dragon is a true hero and deserves our respect and our approbation.

Mind you, I don't think that I could stand to even do what you do. It would break my heart to see so many broken and desperate people who need SO MUCH help, and yet knowing you can only help just a little bit...so sad.

Two thumbs up to you and dragon. My best friend lost her home, aunt and uncle and all her belongings in Katrina. She is still trying to heal from the trauma, along with her 10 year old son. Talke care and thank you for being involved.

I would not have known. Thank you for sharing with us. Dragon is one of my favorites on this site. I cannot imagine the horror that you witnessed. I was only able to send money through the telethon for Katrina.

Thank you, Slk and Dragon. You are both wonderful people and I am glad to have you on this site.

I am off line for a few hours & my buddy rips a wing off the ole' dragon. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get folks to believe I am the meanest S.#.B. in the valley now?
No! I am NOT upset with her, I just don't take accolaids very well. And I don't care if my spelling etc. is crap this evening.
