5(2p - 3) - 2(3p - 4) = 2p + 6

10p - 15 - 6p + 8 = 2p + 6

4p - 7 = 2p + 6

2p = 13

p = 6.5

the answer is p=6

step 1: 5(2p - 3) - 2(3p - 4) = 2p+6
distribute the 5 and -2

step 2: 10p-15-6p+8=2p+6
combine like terms

step 3: -7+4p=2p+6
combine like terms

step 4: 2p=13
divide by 2

step 5: P=6.5

hope this is clear and helps

multiply the 5 by (2p - 3) = 10p - 15
multiply the -2 by (3p - 4) = -6p + 8
the right side should now look like this:
10p -15 - 6p + 8
we combine like terms (the p's):
4p - 7
now we look at the whole equation:
4p - 7= 2p + 6
add 7 to the left side:
4p = 2p + 13
subtract the like term( the 2p) on the leftside from the right side:
2p = 13
divide 13 by 2:
p=6.5

I hope this helps : )

what you will desire to do is improve the brackets. so which you multiply the 4 by way of each and every little thing interior the brackets to get: 4 x y + 4 x 3 = 6 4y + 12 =6 Then minus the 12 from the left side 4y= 6 - 12 4y= - 6 then divide 4 by way of -6 y= - 6/4 cancel all of it the way down to get y= - 3/2 stable success! :) x

5(2p-3) - 2(3p-4)=2p+6
(10p-15) - (6p-8)=2p+6
4p-7=2p+6
2p=13
p=6.5
