You might want to read a bit more about how genetics works. Once you've learned a bit more things won't sound so "dumb" to you.
May I sugggest you start with "The Blank Slate" by Stephen Pinker?
I must be ignorant indeed, to suggest that you read a book, knowing full well that would be a frightening challenge.
By the way, "your" means "belonging to you. " Clearly, you were attempting to say "you are," the contraction for which is "you're.'

It is true that some people have a "predispostion" to be this or that; some would call it a genetic trait.
The best answer to what is homosexuality is that I have ever read is the scientist who claimed it is a disease. His reasoning? Homosexuals CAN NOT reproduce, meaning they are "queer" (in the sense of not being the norm; they can't reproduce, therefore are not "normal". I never have met a "normal" or "average" person, have you?)
So, rather than a gene, I would say a disease.

Amazingly science hasn't yet caught up with this question. Scientist are on their way, but as yet we haven't completely cracked the human genome. Also it might not be the matter of a "gay gene", but possibly a hormone imbalance during pregnancy. Since you're so educated, just how do you think people end up gay? And I can't seriously believe anyone is still hung up on that whole "gays can't reproduce, so they're not natural" argument. Are you serious? Because I might be gay but I could still reproduce. That argument really only applies to people who are born infertile.

Yes it is genetic, see and speak to a specialist.
My husband and I were just having an evening in and all of a sudden this thought came to my mind, "how am I going to react if and when our boys bring girlfriends at home"
my husband turnaround to me and said that should be least of our worries then he asked me how will I feel if they bring home boys intead of girls.
I have to admitt my stomach churned. After that small conversation I got upset and we went to bed, and did not speak about this for good few months.
After few months we bumped into my husband friend who happened to be Gay.
I did not even know that she was a gay. My husband asked her to explain to me what it was like being gay.
My husbands friend was the first gay person I know. Since then I have done so much research and sadly there are gay genes and they do exist.

No one has ever proven that a gay gene exsists. And I certainly don't believe it's genetic.

A lot of people thinks it's a genetic mutation. We all have them, sometimes if you get them on a specific gene, it will change your outcome.

No its not possible. Homosexuality is a choice, I know I'll get like a million thumbs down for this answer, but everyone of you that clicks thumbs down better give me some scientific proof that I'm wrong.
