Over the years we have down-played our anniversary and are happy to just exchange cards. I personally do not need a tangible gift. He feels the same. We treat each other to random surprise gifts to each other year round. I think while we were dating and much younger we made a big issue over our 'dating' anniversary.

We've never exchanged gifts on our anniversary. We take a nice long weekend trip. That's gift enough for us both.
