The Legions came to Britain for the conquest of lands and peoples. Rome was constantly sending out Legions looking for produce, valuable gems, valuable medals, recruits for Legions, and Slaves.

Under Julius Ceaser the Romans were trying to conquer the entire world, which included Britain. They wanted to unite the world under a single leader, language, and monetary unit, as well as pay for the expensive roads and wars they were dealing with, as well as gain more slaves and resources.

any invasion is about taking over land and people solely for the purpose of capitalism and currency, who conquers wins,etc. so any wealth that Britain held was there to be taken,did you watch the recent BBC roman series, power hungry was not the word!

They probably wondered why they were here themselves. Cold, damp, no decent roads, no running water,no decent bars or brothels, and the natives were uncouth, unfriendly and stank.
