I watch it and sometimes i forget that alot of children and young teens are watching this too and im like dang i wonder if their parents know that there are shows like this on tv channels that target young people and well basically children in my opinion.
im talking about shows like "flavor of love" "rock of love" "i love newyork" "date my mom". Now these might not seem bad but belive me ive watched alot of these shows and they Definitely need to be rated M

When MTV first came on the air in the early eighties, it was all about the music& showing the actual bands performing the songs.Now fast forward to 2007 and look at all the shows they air for our youth not only to see,they are a huge influence on how are children act.The material that MTV/ VH1 air today affects the thinking and the mental social status that these shows emulate. Our children imitate the people to the extent that it can be harmful. Sex ,Drugs ,Hip-Hop,Rap,gangs etc.are not the message to send out . I know we can just turn the channel and forget about the garbage on TV,but what can we do about the thousands of children who come home from School alone. Because both parents work or have no supervision at all and do watch''date my mom''or any of the shows not mentioned,there are to many to name! I have two teenagers and I let them watch whatever they choose. I guess I'm one of the lucky parents because my kids can't stand watching MTV. So for you parents that can make a difference in what your children do watch on the tube,make it a wise one.It will do you a World of good,think so ?

I have a 13 year old and I don't want him watching it. Even the Yo Mama show gives him too much desrespectful material to use in the real world. Most of the shows and videos on there twist reality and objectify women. I agree the channel should be rated higher and the target market should not be to youth - and if it is - MTV should have more shows that increase the integrity of the youth character for sure!

I have 3 kids and i dont let em watch MTV, VH1 or BET....the only show i allow my son to watch is Pimp My ride...my kids are 10, 9 and 6. They wont be watching it anytime soon either

Some kid who arent mature shouldnt watch them but mature kids should be able to watch it. Tv is a lot better than some kids life so let them watch it

I never let my kids watch those stations . especially when they were young . good luck .

well i dont have any children, but if I did they would not be allowed to watch it...yet.
