I was always brought up to share what I have with the less fortunate. My question is since the rich man went to hell because he didnt share his wealth and Lazarus went to heaven because he lived in poverty, how does that reflect in today's society ? I donate to charities and I give whatever change to panhandlers. They would approach me asking for either bus fare or money for food for their kids and one person went to my house and said she has a sick kid and asking exactly $8.65, promised me to pay me back but I knew I'll never see her again. I never hesitate to give but the same time I know (i've seen them) that they don't always use the money for what they ask for (they buy booze mostly). Its illegal now to buy/give food to them, I will get fined for it. Now I'm starting to think that the our mayor is right, they always have a choice but they choose to live in the street because people keep giving them money. Would you continue to keep giving?
