I know that the 20 gb can hold up to 5000 songs... which would be awesome... but the 8 gb is apparently better in quality? Suggestions? I'm just looking for one that can hold a good amount of songs, I don't care about videos or any extra crap, anddddd decent quality would be good haha...

The 20GB version has a mechanical hard drive, while the 8GB version uses flash-drive technology. Mechanical things can break down much more readily because of moving parts.

I have a 4GB iPod Nano that I've dropped repeatedly from various heights. It still functions fantastically after 18 months. It holds almost enough for me (I'm a podcast addict). If you anticipate using the iPod to record lectures, watch occasional videos, or hold lots of pictures or data, then go for 20GB, and plan to treat it gingerly. But if you only want it for tunes, go for a 2nd generation or 3rd generation Nano. You'll feel more liberated by its simplicity and reliability.

Well, I would get the 20GB because then you can fit more songs and tv shows on it and you'll never run out of room.
