Getting just cell phones and no homephones? Like a cell phone for every family member with myfaves? Good or bad idea?
please give reasons for opinions ;) thankz a bunchy!

that's what most families do nowadays everyone have their own cellphone line and they don't use home phone some home phone are use just for local services.

I was thinking about this also and now they have these phones with these cards. You can get a year of service for like 100 bucks. Call anytime anywhere for like 100 bucks a year. Not a bad idea at all. I got my kids a little phone that use those cards.So far I haven't had any trouble. Wish I would have done that. But anyway that is a good idea

pretty much everyone i know has done that, including me. whats the point in having a home phone if you have a cell phone. there are less bills to pay, plus you can't carry your home phone around everywhere with you. people would think you were crazy! and you don't have to have a phone to hook your Internet up to a land line. you can always get Internet on your phone too.

We had that and the kids were calling each other from different rooms, then when we went out they forgot them, then my husband lost his and took one of the kids mobiles, he gave mine to someone in need and got me a new one, and my son dropped his someplace in the street and my daughter lost hers too.
I paid all that money and then had to pay for the card to make calls only to lose that and pay to get our line back with no mobile to put the number on.
Great idea if only everyone was more responsible.

I once thought that too. but , if someone loses their cell then that person is out of luck.. will have to get another one and it would be very expensive just having cell phones.

yea thats a good idea, (tryin to sucker one out oh ur parents, eh?) , cuz if ur goin somewhere and somethign happens then you have a phone w/ you, an dur parents may say, (if you have a small bro/sis) why do THEY need a cellphone cuz they dotn call ppl that often, then you can say, that they can wait andif they need to call some1 then they can temporailly use soe1 eles (sp?) and if you something bad happen to you then they have a gsp tracker for you...... hope this helped..........

I think you should always have a corded phone in the household.
