I have two computers connected to via a router, and want to share a folder between the two. Can someone walk me through the process, step by step? Any Good Samaritans out there?

You don't say what OS you have, so I'll assume you have Windows XP.

You have to be logged in with an account with administrative privileges. Right-click the folder, select "properties", then select the "sharing" tab. Select the options you want. If the options are greyed out, it means the folder is within a parent folder which has been made private. For example, if you've made your "My Documents" folder private, you can't share it (or any subfolder) on a network.

After you have your network set up, just right click on the file that you want to share and click properties and then the Share tab. From here on windows will walk you through the process.

You need to setup a peer to peer network using a cross over cable. Then use window wizard to create the network, it will ask you if you want to share files and printers between the two.
