ahh how cosy and ambient is that -
i love candles - i used to always have them burning in the evenings and more so when i did Reiki and Indian Head Massage treatments at home -

Not enough info to give an accurate answer. In my home the light bulb would likely be the better choice, since I have solar panels for most of my energy use and use green energy from my provider which is primarily wind power. You would need to take into consideration the source of electricity and the source and materials the candles come from. Basically you can improve the earth friendliness of either activity. Clean renewable energy and energy efficient light bulbs. Local or home made beeswax candles.

Candles have a high frequency of starting fires when used on a regular basis. Ask your local Fire Department for statistics. Use the electric lights for safety. Candl is ok for a novelty as long as you constantly observe it. You can't trust it.

I love the glow and smell of candles but I prefer electric lights just because I'm always nervous about fires.

Hello, It's not dark here in the U.S.A! But it will get dark. I do like candle light rather then electric lighting! It is more romantic!

YES, it makes your home feel so welcoming and peaceful.....until you blast that ZEPPELIN!!!! (in my case anyways, I also light incense with those candles, get it real smoky).
