in guild wars, would a necro/derv be a good combo?

I am considering getting the game. i've seen like every site with anything on the game but i've seen nothing on this build. Ive looked at skills and this eems like a good build. with a good offensive/defensive combo mostly consentrating on death magic, soul reaping, scythe, and earth.

Every combination in GWs has some sort of merit/problem.

With the necro/derv the problem is going to be armor. The Dervish fights at really close ranges, with few ranged skills. BUT, the necromancer's armor isn't as good as the Dervish, nor is their hit points.

An advantages are all the Dervish buffs, Dervishes specialize in self improvement.

But like I said, all GWs combinations have advantages and disadvantages...Give it a try and see how it works!
