ok imma try to explain this the best I can but the answer is
x= -5, y= 6

ok you have to first multiply everything by 3 in each equation so that you will have a 12x in each one and you should get:

12x + 9y= -6
12x + 8y= -12

then you want to negate one each equation so you can get rid of the x's so I negated the top equation by multiplying by -1:

-12x - 9y = 6
12x + 8y = -12 and then you will have -y = -6 which is y=6

so take one of these equations and plug 6 in as the y and you'll get the x answer:

12 (x) + 8(y) = -12
12 (x) + 8(6) = -12
12(x) + 48 = -12
12(x)= -60
x= -5

Hope this helps!

Elimination by addition method

4x + 3y = - 2- - - - - Equation 1
3x + 2y = - 3- - - - - Equation 2
- - - - - - - - - -
Multioply equation 1 by 2

4x + 3y = - 2

2(4x) + 2(3y) = - 2(2)

8x + 6y = - 4. . .New equation 1
- - - - - - - - - - -
Multiply equation 2 by - 3

3x + 2y = - 3

- 3(3x) + (- 3)(2y) = - (- 3)(3)

- 9x + ( - 6y) = - ( - 9)

- 9x - 6y = 9. . .New equation 2
- - - - - - - - - - -

Combine new equation 1 with new equation 2

8x + 6y = - 4
- 9x - 6y = 9
- - - - - - - -- -
- x = 5

Multiply both sides of the equation by - 1

- 1(- x) = -1(5)

- (- x) = - 5

x = - 5

Insert the x value into equatiion 1
- - - - - - - - -
4x + 3y = - 2

4(-5) + 3y = - 2

- 20 + 3y = - 2

Transpose 20

- 20 + 3y + 20 = - 2 + 20

Collect like terms

3y = 18

Divide both sides of the equation by 3

3y / 3 = 18 / 3

y = 18 / 3

y = 6

Insert the y value into equation 1
- - - - - - - - - - -

Check for equation 1

4x + 3y = - 2

4(- 5) + 3(6) = - 2

- 10 + 18 = - 2

- 2 = - 2
- - - - - - - - - -

Check for equation 2

3x + 2y = - 3

3( - 5) + 2(6) = - 3

- 15 + 12 = - 3

- 3 = - 3

- - - - - - - - - -

Both equations balance

The solution set is { - 5, 6 }

4 x -5 + 3 x 6 = -2

3 x -5 + 2 x 6 = -3

Its a matter of subsitution.

-2(4x+3y=-2)
3(3x+2y=-3)
=
-8x-6y=4
9x+6y=-9
=
(the -6y and 6y cancel out)
x=-5

then to get the y...plug in X to any of the 2 equations:
3(-5)+2y=-3
-15+2y=-3
2y=12
y=6

ANSWER: -5, 6

done :)
that was fun haha
