I liked all the songs Wolfman Jack would play. But the song The Night Chicago Died was good, Tie A Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree, and many Bobbie Vinton songs were great'

I'm a "Boomer" but I remember all the songs. Even though I have no attachments to them personally, I just remember hearing them over & over again on the radio. The last song you mentioned is by Paul Anka & I loved each & everything he ever had out in the 50's & 60's.
Anyone remember "Teen Angel," "Theme From A Summer Place," "Hey, Paula," "Blue Moon," "Smoke Gets In Your Eyes," " Let's Stroll," "The Mountains High," "Sillouettes," "It's My Party," "Tall Paul," "Poetry In Motion," "Where the Boys Are?"

When did songs from the 60's & 70's become "golden oldies"? To me, a golden oldie would be "You're Nobody 'till Somebody Loves You", which I think was by the Mills Brothers!

Those are good ones. For me, it's either Jackie Wilson's, "Lonely Teardrops" or Ben E. King and the Drifters', "This Magic Moment". I went skating every weekend growing up and I must have listened to these songs a million times. When I hear them they take me 'back'. I still love them.

Ouch!! None of those brings back good memories! I never cared for those songs. I suppose I was more into more up beat music.
My husband does love those kind of songs though. He will play his Bread CD just to annoy me. You know, songs like ...I found a diary underneath a tree, and started reading about me.... Yuck!!

Not really such an old song, but I think the most touching was Rod McKuen's "Jean, Jean." The prolific poet can't sing worth a hoot, so he speaks his poems in a sing-song way, and for some reason, that makes them very endearing.

In my younger days my daughter would call me at the bar and ask me when I was coming home and I'd always say "I'll be home in a little bit", and she'd say, "no you won't I hear that song playing on the jukebox" and it was "The September Song" Every time I see your name I think of those days!!LOL!!
