I have a fifth generation 30GB ipod from late 2006 has just stop producing sound. Its completely charged and ive tried it with several earphones but you still cant hear anything. Everything else is working good though. And no im not death.
what should i do? and why isnt it working?

It could be something to do with the audio chip inside it not working for some reason. That would be strange as i have not heard it happening before.

Take it to the Apple Store and let the Genius's take a look at it. They should be able to sort it out for you, if not sort out a replacement

That happened to my old iPod. It is basically dead. You can do nothing about it. Look into repair by calling 1800-263-3394 or you can buy a new one from a local retailer. The new Nanos and Classics are snazzy =D

Because iPods are cheaply and poorly made.

This is done so that they fail regularly and you buy a new one frequently.
