What you were toldis correct.
When you cube a quantity, you raise it to the 3rd power. So

We know: 1cm = 1x10^-2 m
Therefore 1cm^3 = 1x 10^-6 m^3

Yes!!! it is true.
Reason.
By Line there are 100cm in 1 metre.
By Area there are 100cm x 100 cm = 10000cm^2 in 1 m^2
By Volume there 100cm x 100cm x 100cm = 1,000,000.cm^3 (10^6 cm^3) in 1 m^3.

To convert cm^3 to m^3 divide by 10^6
To convert m^3 to cm^3 multiply by 10^6
