Gentleman , you are again and again coming on my route, this is my favourite site, where I want to answer your question. When I write this answer I am completing 5000 points and going to be promoted for 5th stage and for that I thank U . For the sake sacrifice we don not sacrifice anything in this world. As a son , as a brother, as a husband, as a father, as a father in law , as a grandfather, whatever we do in this world to satisfy others and be happy . Where ,where is the question of sacrifice comes. Sacrifice is a very big word which nobody does, Mahatma Gandhi (2nd October his birthday falls) was a real sacrifice for our India. Yours VRVRAO

Well as a mother I have sacrificed a lot and yes I do believe I have been recognized for it although that is not what I was looking for. I gave up many nights of sleep caring for a sick baby and rocking one back to sleep because he heard the other cry. I held my daughter close the day her beloved pet was killed by some inconsiderate fool who hit her and drove off. I did without so they could have a great Christmas. I took them to Church every Sunday even when we all wanted to stay in bed, but they are our children our family and we love them and each other and yes they are here for me and we are there for them that is family and sometimes it means sacrifice. Just like God did for us. Not trying to preach or anything here. Just me.

Yes, I sacrificed my marks many times during the studies for my friend's sake and she never got bothered to even mention my name infront of others or thanking me. :)

But thats fine, I might get a reward sometime later in life.

Yes, I sacrificed watching T.V during my exams (in my school days) for which I didn't get recognition at all.
